Medieval Wooden Post Mill 3D Model Low-poly 3D model
Asset BreakdownHere is a simple explanation of what makes this model special and how it is designed: The Overall Concept This asset is a historical post mill, the earliest type of European windmill. It features a small wooden house containing the machinery, which sits balanced on a single central post. Weathered Timber Texture The entire structure is made of dark, aged wood. The vertical planks look rough and worn down by years of wind and rain, giving the model a very realistic, rustic appearance. Skeleton Sails The mill features four large rectangular sails arranged in a cross. They are shown as bare wooden frames (latticework) without the cloth canvas, which adds a detailed, intricate silhouette to the model. Central Support Post The main body of the mill rests on a thick vertical log supported by diagonal cross-beams at the bottom. This clever design allows the entire building to rotate so the sails can always face the wind. Access Ladder At the rear of the structure, a long wooden ladder hangs down to the ground. This provides the only entrance for the miller to climb up and operate the grinding stones inside. Technical Notes:Files Included: FBX, GLB, OBJ, STL, ZIP (Textures). Quick Tip: Since this is a Post Mill, the entire upper house structure (including the sails) should be able to rotate 360 degrees around the central base leg to face the wind direction in your game.
